P002 → Golden Rod
Golden Rod ( Solidago Virga-aurea), a North American perennial, has long slender branches that reach out in widespread, elongated yellow clusters.
The show gathers a collection of work that focuses on cyclical and slow processes that question identity, inherited objects and preservation. Like the plant, these works sprawl throughout the space in large sweeps of colour and delicate shimmering details. Through dyed and quilted wool, bronze, aluminum, and dehydrated fruit leathers, the works converge through their flexibility and transformative qualities. Each artist disrupts the circumstances within which one typically encounters these items, whether that be a golf bag, a safety pin or an overripe apple.
